The yearly modelrailway show at the National Railway Museum in Utrecht
2023-03-17 16.09.34b --> Ontraxs is tradionally held every year during the last weekend of the spring school holiday. Venue is the National Railway Museum in Utrecht. As always a disclaimer: I photographed e few layout extensively, but needless to say many, many others were equally good. I just picked out a few because I liked them. 2023-03-17 10.47.42 --> Dun Stravaig is a layout that at first does not look too spectacular. But in second look there is a very original idea hidden in it. It consists of four identical inetconnected dioramas which differ in only one aspect: the season they are depicting. 2023-03-17 16.03.42 --> Autumn 2023-03-17 16.03.37 --> Winter
2023-03-17 16.03.51  -->  Spring 2023-03-17 16.03.47  -->  Summer 2023-03-17 10.45.30  -->  But even so, the work on the details of these dioramas is brilliant 2023-03-17 10.46.28  -->
2023-03-17 10.46.34  --> 2023-03-17 11.08.16  --> 2023-03-17 11.08.22  -->  A tiny diorama but full of detail when you take close look 2023-03-17 11.08.30  -->  A perfectly modelled well-worn bread and butter shunting loco
2023-03-17 11.08.40  --> 2023-03-17 11.08.48  --> 2023-03-17 11.08.57  --> 2023-03-17 11.10.35  -->  A neigbouting layout, I forgot to record the name of the layout.
2023-03-17 11.10.59  --> 2023-03-17 11.11.05  --> 2023-03-17 11.11.17  --> 2023-03-17 11.11.25  -->
2023-03-17 11.11.40  --> 2023-03-17 11.11.57  --> 2023-03-17 11.12.29  --> 2023-03-17 11.13.07  -->
2023-03-17 11.13.19  --> 2023-03-17 11.13.41  --> 2023-03-17 11.13.49  --> 2023-03-17 11.13.58  -->
2023-03-17 11.14.08 --> 2023-03-17 11.16.18 --> 2023-03-17 11.16.27 --> 2023-03-17 11.16.39 --> This layout is remarkable in that is very spacious, suggeting the vastness and relative emptyness of the French countryside
2023-03-17 11.16.49  --> 2023-03-17 11.16.58  --> 2023-03-17 11.17.03  --> 2023-03-17 11.17.22  -->
2023-03-17 11.18.22  --> 2023-03-17 11.19.02  --> 2023-03-17 11.19.41  --> 2023-03-17 11.20.16  -->
2023-03-17 11.20.52  --> 2023-03-17 11.22.07  --> 2023-03-17 11.22.22  --> 2023-03-17 11.25.14  -->
2023-03-17 11.25.19  --> 2023-03-17 11.26.05  --> 2023-03-17 11.26.35  --> 2023-03-17 11.26.46  -->
2023-03-17 11.42.03 --> 2023-03-17 11.40.50 --> Even as small as this, layout can still be very interesting 2023-03-17 11.41.31 --> 2023-03-17 11.41.36 --> The idea to add a poster of this very exhibition!!
2023-03-17 12.21.58  -->  Along the way to other layouts I also saw these beauties. 2023-03-17 12.22.07  --> 2023-03-17 12.29.01  --> 2023-03-17 12.29.06  -->
2023-03-17 12.35.12  -->  A wargames modeller also made an outing into the railway worls with this stunning result! 2023-03-17 13.48.12  --> 2023-03-17 13.48.22  --> 2023-03-17 13.48.39  -->

2023-03-17 14.03.37 --> Ackle is one of the masters, i f not the of diorama building 2023-03-17 14.04.51 --> The diorama is not overly big, but once you start paring attention to details you are hooked 2023-03-17 14.03.49 --> 2023-03-17 14.03.57 -->
2023-03-17 14.04.14  --> 2023-03-17 14.04.20  --> 2023-03-17 14.04.46  -->  Breathtaking 2023-03-17 14.04.58  -->
